As Vice President for business application software company:  led intrapreneurial venture in web-based services market, managing the skunkworks engineering team, product management and business development efforts.  Secured funding from parent company and brought product to first customer ship.

Result:  Product formed a significant portion of the company’s valuation when company was ultimately acquired.

As VP of Marketing for consumer software company, launched 10 new products, including the most successful launch in the company’s history to that date. Created strategic framework for prioritizing product development.  Developed product launch marketing processes in order to effectively manage high volume of releases with small staff.

Result:  Achieved outstanding shelf position, high sell-through rates and strong revenue results, including international bestsellers.

As VP of Marketing for start-up consumer software company:  built and managed product marketing team.  Directed planning and execution of advertising, promotion and market research activities.

Result:  Grew revenue to over $40 million.  Managed the successful introduction of 8 new software products, 6 of which became national Top 10 bestsellers, representing over $35 million in revenue.

As VP of Marketing for data storage company:  managed 50 marketing and technical professionals for business unit with over $500M in annual sales.  Developed marketing strategies and managed implementation of marketing tactics.

Result:  Revised marketing strategy for key product line, resulting in 14% increase in year-over-year sales, reversing previous year’s 37% decline. Established channel marketing program that was recognized as best in industry and led to annual sales increase of 40%.  Developed turnkey seminar program that was used to develop new business through VARs and systems integrators in Europe, Latin America and Asia.
